Barnwell Circle Theatre to stage Tom Sawyer this weekend
The Circle Theatre in Barnwell presents The Adventures of Tom Sawyer at 325 Academy St with shows 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday March 11 12 and 3 p.m. Sunday March 13. Advance tickets are 10 dollars at Evelyn's Jewelry and Gifts or by phone. 12 dollars at the door. The production runs slightly over two hours with an intermission.

Man arrested on attempted murder charges in Aiken County
Jonathan Griffin, 25, of Aiken, was booked into the Aiken County detention center on a charge of attempted murder. He had topped the county sheriff s most wanted list after allegedly firing at a 24 year old man outside a Birch Street home in February, with two others in a white Toyota Corolla. Deputies found shotgun shells and holes in the residence window after the March 14 incident.
