Ford Jackson Ahead In Washington Caucus Returns
In a 100 precinct sample Ford leads the Washington GOP caucuses with 106 delegates to Reagan’s 81. For Democrats Henry M. Jackson dominates Massachusetts and trails just one rival for delegates in Washington. About 12,000 caucuses were held statewide with six voters each as churches and living rooms served as voting sites ahead of April and May district caucuses.

Aiken County investigators issued a warrant for John Flynn of McDonald Road Graniteville in the burglary of Marion Baughman’s home on McDonald Road. A search of Flynn’s residence recovered items taken from the Baughman home, but Flynn has not been arrested.

Court house space plan seen as inadequate for regional needs
A courthouse committee estimates 70 000 square feet are needed for court facilities and related offices. The 95 year old building cannot house other state and federal agencies. additional space would be sought elsewhere.
