Doolittle Raider Thomas Griffin Dies at 96
Maj. Thomas C. Griffin, B-25 navigator of Doolittle's Raid, has died at 96 in a Kentucky veterans home. One of 80 original volunteers, Griffin parachuted into China after the Tokyo mission and later served in North Africa before being shot down in 1943 and held in a German prison camp. Survivors include Lt. Col. Richard Cole and three other Raiders. The Raiders were to hold their final reunion in Fort Walton Beach next month.
