SRP reports a small tritium release at 6 18 a m from its H area facility during routine operations. About 20000 curies were released with an estimated plant boundary exposure of 4 millirems, far below chest X ray levels, and winds dispersed the plume toward the southwest. No public danger. monitoring continues and investigations into the equipment malfunction will follow.

A fire Tuesday morning damaged the J C Penney catalogue store at the Village at Whiskey on Pine Log Road. No injuries were reported as of press time. The blaze was reported at 9 50 a m and brought under control by 11 00 a m with the extent of damage still being determined.
