Digital Watches Signal Parental Shifts and Time Discipline

My Own Life by Erma Bombeck

A nostalgic social reflection on motherhood and time in Erma Bombeck's voice. The narrator recalls learning motherly lessons during daily routines, noting her mother's patience and the evolving role of watches and reminders across years. The piece ends with commentary on a new talking timepiece that nags to reset alarms.
