Pianist Lowenthal Leads Master Class in Aiken
Jerome Lowenthal guided four piano students at the Dixie Narco Maytag Foundation Master Class in Aiken. He urged performers to place works in context, analyzing composers' intentions and the overall character before playing. He highlighted Beethoven, Mozart, Schubert, and Schumann through student performances. The event preceded next year’s master class led by Hobson for the June 8 10, 2000 USCA festival.
