Miss Elisabeth Bailey directed a county home demonstration camp in Aiken County drawing fifty seven girls and twenty one women for lectures demonstrations and films. Graniteville Mfg Co Sues Tax Commission Over Interstate Notes
The Graniteville Manufacturing Company through attorney P F Henderson obtained a temporary restraining order signed by Federal Judge Ernest F Cochran barring South Carolina Tax Commission from collecting more than 5000 in taxes on notes issued to banks outside the state. Henderson argues notes to out of state banks do not require stamps, an interstate issue brought to federal court. The Tax Commission must show cause before Judge Cochran on June 17 why it should not be permanently restrained.
