New South Carolina Plate Features Smiling Faces Beautiful Places
The state adopts a blue mountains shield tag replacing the Carolina wren series. The Public Safety Department will produce about 2.8 million plates initially with new aluminum plates issued as old steel ones expire. Each plate costs around $2.65 to produce and can be picked up free or mailed for $3. The new tag uses three numbers followed by three letters, providing at least 7 million combinations.
