Three friends freed on appeal in stop sign deaths
Nissa Baillie 21 Christo Cole 20 and Thomas Miller 20 were sentenced to 15 years for manslaughter in a crash that killed three 18 year olds after pulling up a stop sign. They posted bail pending appellate review, with defenses seeking dismissal or a new trial and possibly a two year wait. Cole testified about removing up to 19 signs the night before the Feb 7 1996 accident but denied touching the stop sign.
