Steve Howe, released by the New York Yankees two days earlier, was arrested at JFK Airport for carrying a loaded 357 Magnum pistol in his luggage. A Port Authority spokesman said the incident occurred at the Delta first class check in for a flight to Whitefish Montana. Howe faces charges of criminal possession of a weapon.
