Jurors viewed videotapes and a still photo showing Columbia Police Chief Arthur Hess receiving money from Joel Hendrix at a Calhoun County rest stop. The tapes revealed discussions of protection for payments and efforts to keep blacks off Main Street with no clear object shown. Hendrix testified he paid Hess about 4000 dollars in two payments amid claims of Hess offering information on police investigations.
