WWII veteran marries at 99 in Rochester
Gilbert Herrick, a 99 year old World War II veteran and former postal worker from western New York, wed 86 year old Virginia Hartman, widow of five, in a June 6 ceremony at Monroe Community Hospital where they both reside. They first met in 2010 and grew close after daily visits, finally marrying to share a room per facility rules.
