Kids Learn Firefighting at North Augusta Aiken Camp
Area youth ages 11 to 14 participate in an annual fire camp run by Aiken and North Augusta Public Safety. The program mixes basic firefighter training with teamwork and hands on experiences at the fire academy in Columbia and the Savannah River Site. Twelve year old Carter Tanton from North Augusta Middle School expresses interest in becoming a firefighter. The week concludes with a splash down and first aid lessons. Next year the camp will move to North Augusta.
