Detectives probing the Elizabeth Smart disappearance say they questioned a convict who worked in the Smart home more than a year ago and have not ruled him out as a suspect. He was arrested on parole violation on June 14, nine days after she was reported taken at gunpoint.

They sparred over votes on a postage stamp and immigration allegations tied to Sanford's brother's Employment Services Inc. Revelations centered on campaign messaging and ownership questions without new policy ground.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 7 p.m. Tuesday for statewide Republican runoffs in governor lieutenant governor attorney general and secretary of state. In 62 of Aiken County’s 72 precincts a Third Congressional District runoff also appears. Any registered voter who supported the June 11 GOP primary or did not participate in the Democratic primary is eligible.
