City and Historic Foundation Intervene in School Property Suit
The city of Aiken and the Historic Aiken Foundation gain standing to intervene as the Consolidated School District seeks to clarify a deed’s reversionary clause for the old Aiken Elementary property. Officials note the clause may revert the property to the grantor if used otherwise than for education. The case aims to settle language to protect rights of the city and foundation while school boards plan educational use.
