Budget stalemate leaves South Carolina lawmakers apart
A conference committee of South Carolina House and Senate members failed to reach a budget deal on Friday. The impasse centers on a $40 million to $60 million income tax break for small businesses and a three year phase in. Leaders warned the stalemate risks delaying funding for schools and state programs as they plan to reconvene Monday.
