Three agencies unite to curb Aiken County traffic fatalities
North Augusta Public Safety, the Aiken County Coroner's Office and the South Carolina Highway Patrol formed a pact at the North Augusta Community Center to combat rising traffic deaths during the 100 deadly days of summer. Troopers will focus on I 20 and several state and county roads through Sept. 24 with zero tolerance for risky driving. Authorities noted 25 deaths in the county this year and urged seat belt use, sober driving, and attentive behavior.
