The Salt Waste Processing Facility SWPF project marks construction completion after a ribbon cutting. Parsons reports completion in April and DOE validation last month. Aiken County OKs 2016 17 Budget With Holiday Pay Rise
Aiken County Council approved the fiscal year 2016 17 budget on final reading with amendments. The plan increases holiday pay contingency to 400 000 and grants a one time 800 for full time staff 400 for part time. The carry forward balance rises to 1 189 779 to cover amendments. Two council members opposed citing desire for salary adjustments. A proposed 1 pay raise failed.

October court date set in I-520 flood lawsuit
Six North Augusta residents sue the S C Department of Transportation over flooding blamed on the I-520 extension completed in 2009. The suit originally filed in September 2013 is slated for the week of Oct 10 with separate trials for homeowners. Burke leads as first plaintiff.
