Obama to announce major troop drawdown from Afghanistan
President Obama plans a phased retreat from Afghanistan, recalling about 10,000 troops within a year. The plan begins with 5,000 recalled this summer and another 5,000 by 2012, with remaining forces possibly returning or shifting to training Afghan forces by 2014.
