Loran Cannon DeBerry 44 of Fort Worth died suddenly Friday June 13 2008. Born in Augusta Georgia to Dr Stephen Guy Carr and Emily Frierson Carr he attended Aiken Prep and St Angela Academy and graduated from the University of South Carolina and UVA Law School. He taught government and economics for Dallas ISD and was an avid hunter and fisherman. Surviving are his mother in Aiken and father in Elmont with a sister Dr Adair DeBerry Carlisle and her husband Ben Carlisle of Houston. Florence farewell noted.

Stent Pioneering Molecular Biologist Dies at 84
Gunther Stent a UC Berkeley biochemist who helped confirm the DNA double helix with bacterial viruses and co led early molecular genetics research died at his Havertown Pennsylvania home on June 12 of pneumonia. He was 84. His work at Berkeley spanned neuroscience and the brain behavior links and his 1963 text Molecular Biology of Bacterial Viruses became foundational.
