College of Charleston president Alex Sanders plans to announce a U S Senate candidacy within about two months according to South Carolina Democratic Party chairman Dick Harpootlian. Harpootlian said Sanders cannot be an announced candidate and hold the college post, adding the formal announcement will come in 60 days.
