In spring 2002 Senator Clem Clemtna Pinckney spoke to Aiken Technical College Phi Theta Kappa about living together better. Father Greg Rogers recalled the event days after Pinckney and eight others were killed in Charleston. Rogers, ATC dean, had invited Pinckney. Jennifer Pinckney then ATC staff member suggested it. Pinckney was then the youngest serving senator and also a pastor.
