Myrle Sorgee Holley 79 of Jackson SC wife of the late George A Holley Jr died June 17 2021 under Encompass Hospice care. She worked in textiles with United Merchants and at the US Postal Service in Aiken SC and was active in churches. She is survived by sons Clay and Russ, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and several siblings. A memorial service with burial followed at Sunset Memorial Gardens Graniteville. Memorials may go to Komen Foundation Alzheimer’s Association or Encompass Hospice.

A six car collision on Rutland Drive in Aiken just before 1 p.m. Thursday injured several people and caused traffic delays. Some were entrapped and extricated. EMS tended to the injured. No fatalities reported. Westbound Rutland Drive was blocked at York Street but reopened. The accident remains under investigation with no charges at this time.
