1780 British warship found in Lake Ontario treasure
Explorers say the 80 foot 22 gun HMS Ontario from the Revolution era lies intact on the lake bed off the southern shore, preserved by cold dark water. Found by Jim Kennard and Dan Scoville with sonar and an unmanned submersible, the ship remains a war grave owned by Britain and not to be raised.
