Montmorenci Mini Mills founder turns accident into venture
Kathy Batchelor owner of Montmorenci Mini Mills relocated to Aiken in 2004 after polo and rodeo work. An accident in 2005 changed her life but she returned to horses, expanding to miniature horses. Her facility now houses 18 heads including six boarders with 12 black and white minis. She breeds and sells, noting minis stand 34 to 36 inches tall and weigh 260 to 300 pounds. Batchelor accompanied Dr Doolittle and Huey to a Combined Driving Event in Newnan Georgia where they earned Grand Champion after a top overall dressage score despite minor penalties.
