The South Carolina State Museum opens Embattled Emblem The Army of Northern Virginia Battle Flag 1861 to Present to separate fact from fiction. Curator Fritz Hamer explains common misconceptions and the flag’s varied meanings from heritage to oppression. The exhibit runs in Palmetto Gallery through Dec. 10.
