Crime declines across Aiken County and New Ellenton in 1985

Major crime fell across Aiken County and New Ellenton last year according to State Law Enforcement Division figures. Aiken saw declines in most categories while New Ellenton posted decreases in all but motor vehicle theft, which rose to five. The Public Safety Department credited local citizens and officers for the trend.

Amendment Would Shift Benefits For Middle Income Americans

The Senate faces an amendment to redistribute tax relief from the wealthy to middle income earners.
