Scouts Honor Flag Retirement at Bath Ceremony
Scouts from Troop 351 led a Flag Day retirement at Horse Creek Midland Valley Veterans Park Bath honoring the flag and veterans. The eight week program run by the Aiken Housing Authority operates at about 50 sites across Aiken County serving free meals to low income children up to age 18 when school is out. With hours varying by site, about 1,500 children are served daily and 3,000 to 4,000 meals are provided daily. Sites are located near schools where at least 50 percent of students qualify for free or reduced lunches and eligibility is determined by area rather than individual income.
