Judge orders $21.6M payback for MOX contractor
Federal claims judge Thomas Wheeler ruled the National Nuclear Security Administration must refund 216 million dollars to MOX Services, contractor for the Mixed Oxide Fuel Fabrication Facility at the Savannah River Site. The decision scrutinizes incentives paid from 2008 to 2010 and the contract terms as the project, initially priced at 4.8 billion, far exceeds estimates with progress questioned by MOX critics.
