Ex-deputy and Sheriff deny wrong in civil suit over throat strike

Hunt and Jeffrey Nation filed separate responses to Lorenzo Williams's March suit alleging Fourth Fifth and Fourteenth Amendment rights violations. Williams, of New Ellenton, says Nation assaulted him, searched without probable cause, demanded ID, and falsified charges after Nation struck him in the throat on Sept 7, 2008. Nations says the tape speaks for itself and he acted within duties, while Hunt says he informed SLED and apologized, with the case likely moving between state and federal courts.
