Supreme Court to rule on public employees withhold union support
The court will hear six Ferris State College faculty members appeal after the 6th Circuit upheld a 284 dollar annual service fee to the Ferris Faculty Association. They argue funds support political and social causes beyond contract negotiations, violating free speech and due process. The fee breaks down to 24.80 locally, 211.20 to the Michigan Education Association, and 48 to the National Education Association.
