Georgia Supreme Court disbars Sidney Joe Jones 59 of Graniteville after he pleaded guilty to 11 misdemeanors tied to smuggling tobacco and unknown contents into the Richmond County detention center. The court said the offenses show moral turpitude and breach of public trust, despite mitigating factors.

Two bicycles and gear reported missing from Carnoustie Court. A North Augusta man detained for DUI on Edgefield Road after failing sobriety tests. Burglaries reported on Mt Calvary Road, Pinewoods Park Circle, Howard Mill Road, Pine Street, Sandy Lane, Bridle Creek Trail. Additional reports on Colbert Bridge Road and Morgan Avenue.
A Monetta man was shot in the backside while sleeping Sunday at a home on Old Ninety Six Indian Trail around 11:15 p.m. Several shots pierced an exterior wall. the victim was hospitalized at Georgia Regents Medical Center. No arrests or suspects were named by the Aiken County Sheriff's Office.
The June 7 to 9 bookings list at Doris C Gravat Detention Center shows arrestees charged with offenses including driving under the influence, disorderly conduct, weapons violations, shoplifting and gun or drug related offenses.
