Balloonist aims for Atlantic crossing in balloon flight

Karl Thomas of Troy Michigan plans a balloon voyage across the Atlantic next week possibly Tuesday at dusk with two lobsters aboard. The 27 year old seeks to become the first to travel the roughly 3 500 miles by balloon while noting eight others failed before him. He has about 10 000 hours in aircraft and balloons and a record 80 mile balloon trip.

Supreme Court sides with ISO in South Carolina auto rates case

The South Carolina Supreme Court unanimously ruled against the state Insurance Commission in favor of Insurance Services Office. It held the commission erred by forcing ISO member companies to file rate schedules anew and upheld ISO’s challenge to the agency order.
