Summer program feeds area youth at Perry Park event
The Plateful of Summer program by the Aiken Housing Authority served healthy meals to about 3,500 children in Aiken County this summer. The event at Perry Memorial Park featured face painting, slime making, a soda explosion, inflatables, jump rope contests and bounce houses. Caroline Luton sang the national anthem to start festivities as officials emphasized nutrition education and ongoing support from local sponsors and partners.
