Auction of former professor's items scheduled for July
Former Charleston Southern University economics professor Al Parish is at the center of a fraud case. An Atlanta firm seeks auction permission for June 29 and 30 but plans to push the date back weeks. Investors losses exceed 55 million dollars. Parish allegedly spent over 25 million on jewelry paintings and other valuables. Over 2,000 items have been identified with auctions to be handled by Roumillat's Auctions in North Charleston. Parish, claiming amnesia, pleaded not guilty to 10 federal counts and has been released on bail under house arrest.
