Indictment of North Charleston officer in Walter Scott killing
A Charleston County grand jury indicted former North Charleston officer Michael Slager for murder in the April 4 shooting of Walter Scott after a traffic stop. The case drew national scrutiny over police treatment of black citizens and featured a bystander video showing Slager firing eight times as Scott fled.
