Governor signs Jessica's Law in South Carolina
Gov Mark Sanford signed Hessies Law allowing prosecutors to seek the death penalty for repeat child molesters in certain cases. Resort finishes largest sand castle in Myrtle Beach
Myrtle Beach officials announced the completion of a 32 1/2 foot sand castle at the Pavilion Amusement Park. Built by Team Sandcastic of Florida in eight days, the sculpture includes 130 dump truck loads of sand and 24 spires guarded by two gargoyles. A helicopter recorded footage for Guinness confirmation, a process that could take months. The record surpasses a 2003 Maine castle. Myrtle Beach previously held a 10 1/2 mile long sand castle record in 1991.
