Battery Powered Auto On Its Way
A CALTRANS Delphi Study for the California Department of Transportation forecasts a shift to battery powered cars by 1983 and city center bans by 1983, with rapid transit access by 1995. The study, led by Edward Dolder, involves experts from government and industry and was prepared with USC support. A battery driven van testing near Fresno shows 50 mph capability on lead-acid 36 volt packs, hinting at future urban dispatch use.

Women slimnastics meet Mondays and Thursdays 9 to 10 a.m. and 8 to 9 p.m. costs 8 or 11 dollars by residency. A beginner bridge class for 18 and under starts June 16 Mondays 1 to 3 p.m. with 7.50 or 10.50 dollar fees.
