NYPD unit tracks graffiti artists in city
NYPD’s special unit, with a 60 officers roster and a searchable 8,000-entry database, tracks graffiti writers across New York. The Citywide Vandals Task Force arrested nearly 3,800 people last year, up from 2,962 in 2006, as crews split into bombing and writing groups and taggers seek subway fame.
