McWee's Second Murder Trial Delayed by Defense Claims

Convicted killer Jerry McWee's second murder trial stalled Tuesday as attorney J Carrol Bryant argued insufficient time to prepare the defense and pretrial motions. Circuit Judge Tom Ervin postponed the start, possibly to be reassigned, after Bryant said he learned of the case by telephone and from a local paper. McWee, shackled and guarded, testified on competency claiming voices in his head, a claim he now disputes. he was previously found guilty and sentenced to die for John Perry's death.
