A federal court ruled Penthouse may describe four Oakl and Beach Elementary School girls who beat up boys as little Amazons. The magazine published a 1986 article and photo about Warwick school officials segregating recess by sex to protect boys.
Frederick Ringler found 9,901 in cash and 850 in checks near a drainage ditch in New Sc o tland New York. He handed the money to a state trooper and later his wife found 1,100 more. Police said a reward is planned for Ringler.

Virginia R. Ergle, three term county registrar of mesne conveyance in Aiken County, died Friday. Her successor will be appointed by the Aiken County legislative delegation.
An Italian security officer aimed a rifle toward President Reagan’s helicopter as it landed for a luncheon with President Cossiga and Prime Minister Fanfani in Castelporziano. No shots were fired. Observers and a Secret Service agent watched from about 20 yards away.
