SRL Wins Safety Award and Du Pont Earnings Dip
SRL Receives first place from the National Safety Council for Group 2 Chemical Division with 11 years without a lost workday injury and a separate first place from the South Carolina Occupational Safety Council for Research and Development. SRL lab manager Roger Hilley accepted the honors for about 1,100 employees. Du Pont reports a 19 percent drop in net income for Q1 1983 despite a 4 percent rise in sales aided by $41 million in exchange gains, offset by a stronger dollar and overseas competitiveness issues.
