Jogging Replaces Traditional Exercise Gains in America
The National Jogging Association grows from 3,500 members in 1974 to about 25,000. Jogging is an aerobic activity differing from running mainly by speed. Health tips include doctor checks for over 30, treadmill tests over 40, proper stretching, and cautious progress to avoid overuse injuries. Guidance on shoes emphasizes cushioning, a tough outer sole, a full-length soft mid-sole, flexible soles, arch support, a wide stable heel, and a rounded toe box cone.
