Renaissance plan details for Aiken downtown growth
David Smoots of Carbon Properties outlined a three part Aiken Renaissance plan to boost downtown business with new retail space. The proposal projects 30 000 dollars in new property tax revenue 10 000 dollars in business license fees and a 5 4 percent expansion of 637 000 square feet of existing retail with only 6 percent vacancy.
