SCE&G warns customers of phone scam impersonating employees
South Carolina Electric & Gas warns customers of a spoofing scam in which callers pose as SCE&G employees to demand immediate payment on overdue balances. The caller pressures use of prepaid cards and can threaten service shutdown, targeting small eateries and other vulnerable customers.

Aiken Deputies sweep up crime blotter across county
The Aiken County Sheriff Office reports a 33 year old Warrenville man charged with third degree criminal domestic violence after a dispute at Old Apache Lane. Other calls include a Warrenville woman reporting her son’s threats with a gun on Cato Road, break ins on Elm Street in Clearwater Sunfest Drive in North Augusta and Edgefield Highway in Aiken, a thrown shoe assault on Bogeyville Road Ridge Spring, a DUI on Richland Avenue, and vehicle break ins on Park Avenue downtown. Investigators chased a vehicle on Horse shoe Bend Road, finding narcotics in the car but making no arrest. A housing authority breaker box theft reported on Lawana Drive.
