New Augusta Canal Interpretive Center Opens in Enterprise Mill
The Augusta Canal Interpretive Center at 1450 Greene Street opens after a $17 million renovation of the 1877 Enterprise Mill. The center uses multimedia exhibits to tell canal and city history, with a theater film, mill worker life notes, and plans for an operational lock to connect to the Savannah River. Tours and a free map are available for self guided visits.

The Aiken County Historical Museum hosts the annual Aiken Artists' Guila exhibition from June 3 to July 6 at 433 Newberry St SW. Admission is free. The Aiken Community Playhouse offers Parker Deans and Will Cole Scholarships for seniors or college students in fine or performing arts, with applications via local high schools or 649 4355. Water Reflections by John Krok, a North Augusta amateur photographer, will be on display at Borders Books Cafe in June, with framed works for sale through theater donations.

Rotary wine tasting and auction in Aiken downtown

Fuzak Couple Celebrates 6th Anniversary with New Orleans Trip
Fuzak Bill and Dixie Fuzak, longtime Aiken residents, marked their sixth wedding anniversary with a May return trip to New Orleans. They wed in Jackson Mississippi on June 4, 1958 and honeymooned in New Orleans. The couple’s family plans a July reunion in Estes Park Colorado organized by their daughter Lorrie Corlew and spouse.
