Man Wouldn't Fly DC-10 Says NTSB Official
Washington AP reports Philip A. Hogue of the National Transportation Safety Board said he would not fly on a DC-10 until safety questions are answered. A board briefing showed the broken bolt was a victim, not the cause, with Marks noting overstress rather than fatigue. Hogue suggested grounding the jets, noting the NTSB can only investigate and recommend.
