Multivehicle Crash on I 85 Kills Three in Anderson County
Authorities say three people died in a crash involving two tractor trailers an SUV and a pickup hauling a boat on Interstate 85 in Anderson County. Lane closures lasted hours while responders used rappelling gear to reach the wreckage. A man and woman traveling together were hospitalized in stable condition. Northbound lanes remained closed into the afternoon. Investigators also reported finding a body in the woods tied to a missing person case involving Linda Sue New whose sister reported her missing after she was last seen with her nephew earlier in the week.
