Roving tiger in Pennsylvania may be pet animal
Reports of a large tiger in northeastern Pennsylvania farm towns prompted warnings for parents to keep children indoors. After a two day search by rifle-toting officers investigators grew skeptical a wild beast is on the loose and considered the cat may be a Bengal tiger kept as a pet or a mountain lion. Witness Cindy Belmont said she and her brother saw the animal in her father’s pasture, describing it as beige or off-white with a long tail and traveling with a collie.
