Two men from Aiken were charged with receiving stolen goods after attempting to sell copper and metal to Costal Recycling. Mersheral L. Curry and Ray McMillan, both 33, were detained Wednesday afternoon as deputies investigated a vandalized 4 ton heating pump system linked to the theft.

Expired Airline Taxes Update Shows Tax Break Details
Beginning July 23, certain federal air transportation excise taxes no longer apply. The 7.5 percent base tax and the domestic segment tax of 3.70 per person per flight are suspended. The international travel tax of 16.30 per person or 8.20 for Alaska and Hawaii flights is waived. The 6.25 percent tax on air shipment charges is also repealed.
